Our Admissions & Requirements

Currently Form One application is done online. The prospective student follows the prompts:

  • MATABELELAND SOUTH PROVINCE
  • BULILIMA DISTRICT
  • THEKWANE HIGH SCHOOL

The school usually sets cut off points when accepting students. Acceptance does not mean automatic admission. There are admission procedures that should be followed.

Requirements for admission

The following documents are needed for admission:

  • Original copy of Grade 7 results
  • Copy of birth certificate

The applicant then completes an application form which is signed by the parent. This process applies to all other applicants who wish to join the school at any level, the only additional requirement is a recent performance report card.

On admission, the student is issued a clothing list and other necessities.

List of necessities

 Compulsory for all students

  • 2 night dresses or pyjamas
  • A green raincoat
  • 3 blankets or more
  • A pillow and pillow cases
  • Toiletry like towel, soap, tooth brushes, toothpaste, tissue paper
  • Black shoe polish
  • A pair of scissors, reel of white thread and needle
  • Cutlery; a mug, plate, a spoon, fork and knife
  • An electric iron
  • A 5-litre bucket or bigger
  • A Bible
  • A hymn book which is sold at the tuck shop
  • A satchel for books
  • Mattress, size: 150 cm by 82 cm ( for single bed)

Girls uniform

  • Shoes – Weignbreihner or toughees only.
  • 2 pairs of bottle-green V-neck tunics for all.
  • 2 pairs short sleeved white blouses for all.
  • 2 pairs of long sleeved white blouses for all.
  • A black pleated skirt for all.
  • Any white takkies or tennis shoes for all
  • A white rugby short for all.
  • 2 pairs green knee socks for all.
  • 2 pairs white knee socks for all.
  • A House T-shirt sold at the tuck shop for all.
  • A tracksuit sold at the tuck shop for all.
  • A green tie with a badge sold at the tuck shop for all.
  • 2 green pleated skirts for A Levels only.
  • A green tie with silver stripes for A Levels only.
  • A dark green blazer for Form 1-4.
  • A dark green blazer with golden yellow ribbons for A Levels sold at the school.
  • A white long sleeve jersey for A Levels sold at the school.
  • A dark green jersey for all, sold at the school.
  • Bottle-green slacks for all – winter uniform
  • GCU uniform for all sold at school.

Hair dressing

  • Short natural hair for Form 1-4
  • Plaited hair (optional) for A Levels.

Boys uniform

  • Shoes – Weignbrehner or toughees only.
  • 1 pair of khakhi shorts and shirts for all (dormitory uniform).
  • 2 pairs grey socks for all.
  • 2 short sleeved white shirts for all.
  • A dark green jersey for all.
  • A green tie with a badge for all, sold at the tuck shop.
  • A pair of black trousers for all (normal school type design).
  • 2 pairs olive green shorts and shirts for Form 1-4.
  • 2 pairs grey trousers for A Levels
  • A green tie with a silver stripes for A Levels.
